Gleb Sokolov: Manaslu climbing – just a warm-up for lovely Pobeda

Famous Siberian climber Gleb Sokolov will take part in international Manaslu expedition.

Expedition will take place under the direction of Aleksey Bolotov. International team of 22 climbers (including well-known gides, such as Evgeny Vinogradsky, Gleb Sokolov, Dmitry Moskalev, and clients) plan to pass the classical track on this 8K-metres mountain.

Gleb Sokolov pursue two objects in this expedition. First of all, he never reached the Manaslu summit before. But there is another goal, may be even more important for Gleb. It is a good acclimatization for traditional summer Pobeda expedition.

In all his expeditions Gleb Sokolov used to rely upon proved BASK equipment: custom made Dermizax one-piece suit, Buka 1 and Buka 2 warm underwear, Pamirs sleeping bag and other useful things. Gleb uses Beal climbing ropes and lanyards. And of course, there is enough place for 20 kilos of photo equipment in his backpack.
