The climbing team had ascended the peaks Adamtash, Polytechnic, Energy and Zamok (Temple) in Fan mountains. In Darvaz range (North-West Pamirs) the athletes had climbed three nameless summits. In 2pm of 15 August a team of five climbers leaded by Alexander Kirikov first-climbed a summit of 5800-metres height in Darvaz range. The peak was called a ‘Peak of Peoples’ Friendship’. It is supposed to be rated as 5a Russian grade (hard climbing).
Fortunately, sunny ‘Afghan’ weather had settled in the end of the expedition what empowered the climbers to achieve all their plans.
Provided with BASK satellite phone, the climbers had spoken from the summit with Russian and Tajik governments and reported them of the expedition success.
