BASK clothes enabled Russian climbers to feel comfortable on the first day of the New Year at Mont Blanc summit with –300C outside. Six Russian climbers in BASK warm jackets summited Mont Blanc (4807m – highest point of Alps) on the morning of the 1st of January 2002.

Valery Babanov won the most prestigious mountaineering award – Piolet d’Or (2001) for his solo first ascent of the North face of Meru Central peak (6310 m) in Garhwal Himalayas (India).

This year BASK company has equipped Russian climbing quartet for climbing one of the hardest summits Cerro Torro (3102m) in Patagonia, which is so difficult that it was not climbed until after the first ascent of Mount Everest. Russian expedition started on the 11th of January and was planning to finish in February.

Thanks to excellent equipment provided by BASK, climbers and steeplejacks succeeded to accomplish unique recovery works at 550-metres elevation. They had to struggle with extreme weather conditions to restore damaged with fire Ostankin Television Tower.

He is going to ski more than 2000 kilometres along outback regions of Arkhangelsk, Komi and West Siberian regions. This expedition is a part of scientific-and-sport project `North Polar Circle’.
